Points2Ponder-What It Means To Be American!

He stands guard so we can live free!
He stands guard so we can live free!

Friday is Independence Day!

4th of July!

The day each year when America pauses, gathers, celebrates our freedom!

Point2Ponder When’s the last time you considered what it means to be an American?

I know, I know… everyone is just thinking—THREE DAY Weekend!

This year—we have an extended time for celebrating, that’s true, but…

As an American—I have the privilege to stand tall and proclaim:

My Country Tis of Thee…

Sweet Land Of Liberty…

Of Thee I sing!

Or maybe?

I’m proud to be an American…

Where at least I know I’m free

And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.

And I’d gladly Stand Up next to you and defend her still today…

‘Cause there ain’t no doubt, I love this Land—God Bless the U.S.A!

However you celebrate, whatever song makes you feel patriotic…

When’s the last time you actually felt “patriotic?”

Does it take a horrific event in the world to make you go “so glad I live in America!”?

Do you just go through your day and take for granted that you can get up each morning, go to work, make a living, come home.

And no one has a gun to your head or a landmine in your walkway.

We often take so lightly what the rest of the world would love to have—freedom to live life as you choose!

This Friday, when you are at your 4th of July celebration—look around… at all the other people, who are celebrating too!

Celebrating the Old Glory Flag that still flies high and flies proud…

Celebrating our troops, here and abroad, who are not at a 4th of July outing—they have to work!

Celebrating our freedom that allows us to do what we want with our lives and not have to live in fear of reprisal or… death!

You see… it really is an honor and a privilege to be an American!

And I for one…get so excited still… every time I see our Flag Fly Unfurled—proclaim Let Freedom Ring!

So Stand with me, left hand on your heart, saluting our flag as we proudly proclaim:

I pledge allegiance to the Flag

Of the United States of America

And to the Republic, for which it stands…

One Nation…UNDER GOD!

Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL!

May God continue to Bless America!

May she always fly high!
May she always fly high!
